We made it to the weekend! Wooooooooo! It’s been a fun week in my blog world and my real world, and I’m excited to share it all with you folks!
1) New Blog Design
You might notice things are looking pretty different around here! Like I mentioned in Wednesday’s post about being willing to invest in my blog dreams and take my blog seriously, I spent the last few weeks working with the wonderful Madison Wetherill of Grace and Vine studios to makeover my blog. I LOVE how it turned out and feel so much more comfortable in this new space! Working with a designer helped me to accomplish and change some things I’ve disliked about my blog for a while now, and I can’t recommend Madison enough! To give you some perspective, my old blog design looked like the picture below. I am so glad I took the time to change it and make it something I love!
2) Front Room Makeover
My blog’s not the only thing that got a makeover this week! I finally shared some pictures about our front room that we made over this summer! I love how it turned out and this space makes me smile every time I walk past it. Most of the changes we made were little, cheap, or just involved moving around decor we already had in other rooms. Shopping the house like that is one of my favorite ways to decorate. Next up on our decorating to-do list? Finishing our guest room and starting on a nursery! Can’t wait to share that process with you all!
3) Maple Balsamic Pork Recipe
This isn’t the exact recipe I use, but it’s pretty darn close. I’ve done this one so many times that I pretty much just do it from memory. It’s super easy, turns out moist and delicious (as long as you do this magic trick that keeps chicken and pork moist in any recipe), and the sauce is super unique and yummy. It’s one of my favorites to serve to friends, especially with sweet potatoes and rice to soak up all that yummy sauce. I’m getting back into the swing of cooking now that the year has started and my hubby is a happy guy.
4) Slow Nights With The Hubby And Pup
We try to keep our weeknights as open as possible, which means we have a lot of slow, sweet time to spend with each other and the puppy we love. This week, we started re-watching Friday Night Lights (one of the best shows ever), took lots of walks, and made an impromptu Target and fro-yo run on Tuesday that made this mama-to-be verrrrrrry happy. I love me some fro-yo and I love me sweet time with my people and my puppy. (Jordan might not be too happy I shared this pic, but this is Olive’s favorite place to lay: RIGHT on top of her daddy with her nose nuzzled in his neck. Stop the cuteness. And ignore my little face in the window….oops!)
5) Pregnancy Update
I might post a “bumpdate” to answer a few questions about my pregnancy so far, but for now, I’ll just say this past week was a little rough. I’m almost at the 13 week mark and was hoping some of the nausea would die down, but this week was exhausting. It was maybe the most nauseous I’ve been this entire pregnancy and I came home to take naps and eat huge bowls of watermelon every day after school. I just keep trying to remind myself this hopefully means my hormones are strong and baby is hopefully growing healthy and strong too! Ha and this gem of a bathroom selfie (complete with messy counters) that I took to text my mom and best friend is the only picture we have of me and my quickly growing bump. Here’s hoping we’ll remember to take cuter pictures as this whole thing progresses! Anyway…here it is, folks, the 12.5 week baby bump!
That’s all I got, folks! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and soak up some warm temperatures before fall comes and makes this cold-loving girl one happy camper!

Love the blog design. And that front room is perfect… you will just have to find some ways to hide all the toys and books soon 😉

Thanks, Stasia! Haha I know…I’m just grateful babies come small and relatively immobile so we’ll have some time to make sure everything is toddler-proof!

Oh my gosh you are adorable!!! I love your little bump. I think your blog design and living room makeover are stunning. I hope you start feeling better! Unfortunately I had nausea and sickness until the end, so I feel for you!

Thanks, Lindsay! 🙂 I’m a fan of the bump too (which also seems to get bigger or smaller the more I eat…oops!). I know some women deal with all the not fun symptoms for most of pregnancy, so I’m crossing my fingers they go away soon. I suppose it’s all worth it in the end, right? 🙂

I love the living room makeover! So pretty! And you are so cute with your little baby bump! Hoping the nausea passes soon!

You new blog design is gorgeous! I love the simplicity of it! I also love the makeover you did in your house! Decorating and updating rooms (even for cheap) is one of my favorite things to do! Especially when you have such a small budget, it’s good to be thrifty and look to your own home for decor and other items! Commenting via Th Blogging Elite from blissfullybrunette.com

Your face cracks me up! I love your little growing bump. It changes so rapidly, and I wish I’d documented it weekly from the beginning. I started getting better about pics around the 20-week mark. Thanks for sharing that delicious recipe — it sounds perfect for a chilly fall day!

Thanks, Brittany! Haha yeah I need to work on my selfie game, that’s for sure. I think once the bump feels more permanent (and less food/digestion related) I’ll be more likely to want to record and remember it! 😉

The house is just beautiful, friend! Hope you get to feeling better. Little bean there is giving you a cute bump (wonder how long it will take your middle schoolers to catch on…?) Have a great weekend!

Ha I know, isn’t that funny? I actually finished this room about 6 weeks ago, and it cracked me up when my blog designer suggested the color scheme she did. She used my Pinterest to get a feel for what I like, so I guess she did a good job! 🙂

I love the new blog design! And you look so cute with your baby bump–messy counters and all 🙂 I’m certainly going to try out that pork chop recipe. My mouth is watering just looking at the picture!

You ARE having a big week! I really like your redesign. It seems warmer and more inviting (like your writing voice) with this design. I also LOVE your room makeover! How gorgeous! You should design rooms for a living 🙂 I bet the nursery will turn out gorgeous. I’m so sorry you have bad “morning” sickness (a.k.a. any time of the day sickness). I kept expecting mine to go away last year while I was pregnant, and everyone said that at a certain point it would – but I was sick for half the pregnancy!! At least being on the other side of it, it feels like it’s worth it 😉 You’ll get there! Love your blog!

You look absolutely adorable! I also love your new blog design. So clean and easy to read. I really hope you feel better soon. I was super sick in the first trimesters of both my pregnancies. Ugh. It feels like it will never end, then all of a sudden you feel great. Hang in there!

Thanks, Shannon! I can totally see how when you’re in a rental it’s so much harder to feel motivated to decorate. We moved three times in 18 months after we got married and it was so tiring to keep trying to make each place feel like home!

Love the baby bump cute, and your design looks great. I just had my blog redone in June, but I am thinking it still needs some more tweeking!

So many fun things happening for you, girl! Your room makeover post is making me SO excited to move into our apartment next week and start putting it all together! EEE! and hang in there with that nausea; don’t be afraid to go ask for some Zofran from your doctor! It’s actually a anti-nausea med used for chemo patients but also used for morning sickness and it worked wonders for me when I was sick!
