Let’s be honest: pregnancy is not always a time when many women feel their most beautiful. Like I shared in this post about learning to love my pregnant body, it has been a sometimes challenging journey to embrace the stretch marks and new pounds and find joy in the midst of them.
But you guys – these pictures? They make me feel so, so beautiful. I am deeply grateful that my amazingly talented best friend Haley was willing to fly out and visit, and even more grateful that she was willing to take our maternity pictures for us. These pictures remind me that there is such beauty in growing life and I am so excited to share them with you today!
Haley shared some of her favorites in this blog post last week, but today, I’m sharing a few of my favorites from our cozy, winter maternity shoot. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
We were hoping to take pictures outside, but the only day we had available was one of the coldest days we’ve had in a while: single digit temperatures all day but wind chill in the negatives. So we went with Plan B and started out taking some pictures in our bedroom!
Olive was very confused why Mom was on the bed and she wasn’t invited, so we had to recruit Dad to help get her off. She cooperated eventually, but we did snap a cute picture or two!
Later that afternoon, we bundled up and decided to at least attempt a few pretty pictures outside at sunset. We parked the car right outside a random spot Haley found, jumped out as quickly as possible, and then took about 15 minutes worth of pictures in 5 minutes increments with tiny breaks to jump back in the car and warm up in between. We left with frozen fingers and noses but these gorgeous sun-filled pictures make it worth it!
We finished by snapping a few pictures in our newly finished nursery the next morning (check out this post for the reveal if you haven’t already!). I love that these pictures are right in the space where we’ll spend so much time learning to love and care for our little man and they capture that space so beautifully!
A huge shoutout to my beautiful and talented friend Haley for taking these pictures! She is amazing at what she does and loves to travel, so if you live in the Nashville area (or the southeast or just about anywhere airplanes can reach) you should check her out her website and book a shoot!

Ha she was a sweetie pie, that’s for sure 🙂 Haley would be awesome in Blog Passion Project but she’s more of a traveling professional photographer who documents everything in a blog than a “blogger” if that makes sense. I love following along with all her pictures though! So pretty!

It’s definitely a process to learn to love the curves and changes but the more pregnant I look the more beautiful I have felt! That’s not to say I haven’t felt achy or uncomfortable, but it is fun to rock the bump sometimes!
